Leanna's Winding Path
Hi friends. Thanks for checking in on me. I thought this would be a good place to share with you the details about my journey in this life. I hope to keep it simple and honest.
I love you.

I am admitting that I am very good at letting you know about things coming up, but rarely do I follow through to let you know how things went, except on an individual basis when you call or email me directly. So today I’m going to change that and tell you how this set of treatments went.
I think you’ll be impressed. I was.
I had all three cyberknife treatments as scheduled, one last Thursday and last Friday and one today.
During all three treatments, I was calm going into the treatment, throughout the entire treatment time, and after leaving treatment. In fact, I was so relaxed during treatment today, I even fell asleep. I’ve had minimal side effects, if you can even call what I’ve experienced as side effects, a little headache and a little touch of nausea. Way less than last time, which by the way, was way fewer side effects than I have felt from any of my treatments.
Anyhow, I credit the technology and I credit you for this. All of you who were thinking of me during this last week. Call it positive energy, prayer, reiki, carebear stare, whatever you call it, IT WORKS! I am so lucky to have people like you in my life who are willing to hold me in your thoughts in a positive light as I go through this. Thank you so much for your gifts of wellness.
Cyberknife is probably the most advanced treatment system I have gone through, but it is somewhat easy to take it for granted because of the minimal side effects. I’m incredibly grateful for this option. I mean without it, Herb and I would have had to have had a conversation about brain surgery in multiple places in my brain. Talks about quality of life and is it worth it would have been part of our difficult discussion. But luckily, thanks to this incredible technology, we don’t have to make that kind of difficult decision.
Anyhow, it will be a little over two months before we have the results from this round, but I’m expecting good news on both this treatment and further follow-up on the last treatment.
Until then, I have a PET CT scan tomorrow. That is the scan that would identify if there is any cancer in the rest of my body. The last time I had this scan, it showed no evidence of disease! I’m expecting the same results this time. But if you’re up for it, I could use you positive reinforcements on this day too. The scan is incredibly uncomfortable. I have to hold my arms up over my head for the entire length of the scan which is between 40 and 55 minutes. It may sound easy, but it usually gets pretty painful. Anyhow, the scan will be around 3:00pm if you have time to think about it.
I’ll get the results then when I visit Dr. Hendricks on Friday.
Until then my friends.
Thanks.
Love,
Leanna
